Cryopreservation of Oocyte/Sperm and Embryos/ Blastocyst
The excess embryos can be preserved for years by Vitrification and then stored in liquid nitrogen tanks. When needed, they can be thawed. Cryopreservation is still one of the areas that is under active research. In future we plan to freeze the ovaries of patients who need to undergo radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Once they have finished treatment they can now have the ovarian tissue grafts transplanted and then conceive if they wish.
