Mrs. OD was a 38-year-old patient with secondary infertility for 12 years. She was referred to us for management after several failed consultations. She was already giving up hope of ever getting pregnant by the time she came to our clinic. Evaluation revealed endocrine anomalies with an enlarged pituitary gland. She was managed with bromocryptine for 6 weeks and then stimulated with the gonadotropin. She became pregnant during her second month of consultation in our clinic. She delivered a healthy baby boy.
Mrs UG had infertility of 11 years. She had been to a clinic in England where the hope of pregnancy had been removed because her husband did not produce sperm. He had a congenital absence of the ejaculatory duct. She came to our centre and evaluations confirmed the findings from England. In addition, we also discovered some endocrine abnormalities in the couple. They were both treated for the endocrine problem and then prepared for IVF and Testicular Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (TESA). We were able to get a good amount of sperm cells that were stored frozen until the IVF cycle. At a later date the wife was then stimulated for IVF using the ICSI technique. Three of the four fertilized embryos were transferred to her. She became pregnant and delivered a baby boy.
