Prof. Oladapo Ashiru
Professor Oladapo Ashiru has MB.BS from the University of Lagos, MS and Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. One of the significant contributions of Prof. Ashiru in the field of reproductive endocrinology is in the elucidation of mechanisms controlling pituitary gonadotropins (FSH) release. He showed that exogenous FSH has a positive feedback on the release of endogenous FSH. That is the basic science behind the use of exogenous gonadotropins (Pergonal, Metrodin and others) for extra follicular development, in infertility management and IVF cycles. Currently his area of research is in embryo culture techniques and implantation failure.
He pioneered the IVF program in Nigeria in 1984 and his team successfully delivered the first test tube baby in Africa in 1986. He has over twenty five years in the management of difficult cases of infertility, twenty eight years experience in IVF and fifteen years experience with ICSI and new assisted reproduction technologies He was appointed Consultant reproductive Endocrinologist to Lagos University Teaching Hospital in 1980 and Professor of Anatomy in 1983, making him the youngest appointed professor of medicine in Nigeria at the age of thirty two. He was Reproductive Endocrinologist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Omaha in 1978.
He obtained a joint appointment with the departments of Anatomy and Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) at Professorial level. He established two IVF programs for the University in 1996 and became the pioneer director of the University based IVF program at Chicago in 1996. It is currently one of the best IVF centres in the US. He has established collaborations with several infertility centres internationally. Professor Ashiru obtained the licentiate of the American Board of Bio analysis in High Complexity Laboratory Director HCLD (ABB) in 1997. (The American regulatory and licensing body for assisted reproduction technologies). Prof Ashiru through the OARS Foundation has devoted the last couple of years in preventive measures on infertility and anti-aging measures, through seminars, newspaper column contributions, and the publication of the Reproductive Health Magazine.
He has undergone training in the Modern Mayr Medicine and is board certified in Austria. He is the author of Want a Baby, a book on the causes, management and treatment of infertility
Mrs ABIOLA ADEWUSI
She is currently the Clinical Coordinator/Ultrasonographer at Medical Art Center, Lagos. She has over 15 years’ experience in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology. She received her bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management in 1996 from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois. After 3 years in the field of HR, she decided to redirect her career into the medical field. She graduated with distinction from Medical Careers Institute of Chicago in Illinois as an Ultrasonographer in 2001.
She has since worked as an ultrasonographer and clinical coordinator with the following reputable IVF clinics in Chicago, Illinois: SHER Institute for Reproductive Medicine, Rinehart Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Millenova Immunology Laboratories. In 2014, she received an Advanced Professional Diploma in Health, Safety and Environmental Management from College of Medicine, University of Lagos.
She has attended several advanced training in Nigeria and internationally on ultrasound and fertility/clinical management. Her role at Medical Art Center includes overseeing the general activities, both clinical and administrative, to ensure the best results for both patients and employees.
She is a member of the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health in Nigeria (AFRH) as the Assistant Secretary General, International Federation of Fertility Societies(IFFS) and African Fertility Society (AFS).
Dr. Chizara Cynthia Okeke
Dr. Chizara Cynthia Okeke is a fertility specialist with over eight years cognate experience. She currently works in a foremost and pioneer fertility centre, the Medical Art Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
She graduated from University Of Lagos where she obtained her MBBS degree in 2005. Then, she was employed as a medical officer in a fertility centre where she developed interest in assisted reproductive techniques and assisted conception. She then proceeded to enrol in a postgraduate study and training in reproductive medicine from the University of New South Wales Australia and obtained a certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She has an excellent understanding of medical manipulation of the Hypo –pituitary –ovarian axis in order to achieve conception.
Dr. OKEKE has a wealth of experience in fertility management both locally and internationally and is passionate about improving clinical experience and patient care. She loves to see patients’ need at the heart of decision making, by working closely with patients and colleagues towards ensuring excellent service delivery, safe and first class management for all. Her area of great strength is in the management of patients with several implantation failures.
As a member of several professional bodies of reproductive medicine, she serves in the regulatory body of the Association of Fertility and Reproductive Health Nigeria. She is also a member of the Ethics committee of African Fertility Society and associate member of Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology UK.
Dr .Chizara has also published several scientific papers and has presented at various seminars. She is married with kids and in her spare time enjoys travelling, reading and keeping fit.
Dr. Ifeyinwa Atuchukwu is a dedicated medical practitioner and a reproductive endocrinologist/IVF Physician. She has excellent skills in Ultrasound, both Transvaginal and abdominal scanning, pelvic and diagnostic scans, follicular and early obstetrics monitoring. She has skills in Oocyte retrieval, Embryo transfer and Hysterosonogram. She is actively involved in the different stimulation protocols for management of patients going through assisted reproduction and she is good in counseling patients before and post assisted reproduction procedures. She has a keen passion in assisting couples with seemingly hopeless cases of infertility in achieving their dreams of having a child. She is always eager to help such couples find the joy of parenthood. She is the Secretary of the African Fertility Society (AFS), a member of European Fertility Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), member of American Society for reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and a membr of the Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH).
Dr. Adebisi Oyero
Dr Adebisi Oyero is currently an IVF Physician with Medical Art Center. She joined the establishment as a trainee fertility doctor in 2016 .She has since then undergone several trainings both locally and internationally by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Association For Fertility and Reproductive Health(AFRH), Nigeria and International Federation of Fertility Society(IFFS).
She is a competent doctor with good communication skills and shows great compassion towards her patients. She graduated from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in 2013 where she also did her internship. She proceeded to the University Of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) for her NYSC from 2015-2016.
She is a member of Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH) and European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
Dr. Moses is a consultant Gynaecologist/Obstetrician with an emphasis on high risk pregnancies and the removal of fibroids using the newest noninvasive technologies. He is one of the few specialists in Nigeria who is certified in the use of Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy. Both technologies are new noninvasive technologist in the pre-investigative stages of IVF treatment to correct abnormalities such as fibroids and polyps, that are present in the woman’s uterus that may be causing infertility.
He has trained both locally and international and published many articles in peer reviewed journals. He is a member of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nogeria (SOGON), Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH). He has attended numerous local and international trainings, conferences and workshops.
Dr. Kenechukwu Momah isa senior medical officer in Mart group of Health Services (Mart medicare – a women and children hospital). He is a graduate of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. He joined the MART group in 2014. He is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation. His strong love for children sets him apart, and makes him highly endeared by children and parents alike as he is primarily involved in their management and care.
Mrs FOLUKE OYEDEJI
Mrs. Foluke Oyedeji is currently the Assistant Clinical Coordinator/ Head of Nursing Department at Medical Art Center. She joined the establishment as a fertility nurse in 2007 and has risen through the ranks to her current position. She is very caring and diligent with her job delivery.Her experience in the field of reproductive medicine started as fertility nurse with Nordica Fertility Center, Lagos in 2005. She excelled and became the Assistant Clinical Coordinator, before she left the organisation in 2007.
She graduated from School of Nursing, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Idi-Araba 2001 (RN) and School of Midwifery 2004(RM) respectively. In 2016, she graduated from Texila American University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN). She is also a certified nurse in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility by American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
She is a member of Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH), American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
Miss Laura Adagbon
Miss Laura Adagbon is currently practising as an IVF Nurse at Medical Art Center. She joined the establishment as a fertility nurse trainee in 2012. She has gained a wealth of experience in the field of fertility medicine since she started working with MART both on the job and through training locally and internationally. She is a team player and not afraid to take on additional work challenges in her job delivery.
She graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN) from Baptist School of Nursing in 2012. In 2017, she graduated from Texila American University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN). She is a member of Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH).
Mrs CHINELO OKONKWO
Mrs. Chinelo Okonkwo is currently an IVF Nurse at Medical Art Center. She joined the establishment as a fertility nurse trainee in 2015. She has since been trained on the job and has attended conferences relating to the field of reproductive medicine, both home and abroad. She is very amiable and pays attention to detail with her job delivery.
Her experience in the field of nursing and midwifery commenced at Synergy Medicals, Lagos 2008. She continued with Humana Hospital, 2014. She joined MART because of her keen interest in the field of fertility medicine.
She graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN) from Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing in 2008. She proceeded to get her certificate in Midwifery (RM) at Bowen University Teaching Hospital in 2012. She is a registered member of Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH).
Mr Moruf Oladimeji
He is currently Head Embryologist in Medical ART Center. He joined Medical ART Center in 2004 as Laboratory Technologist. He attended Osun State Polytechnic Iree with HND Microbiology in 2002.
He went to Lagos State University for his Post Graduate Diploma. He has been trained in embryology both locally and internationally. He had certificate course in embryology in India in 2008, embryo biopsy in University College London in2012 and embryo vitrification in Hawaii USA in 2014.
He is a member of American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Clinical Embryologist Association of Nigeria (CEAN), and Association of Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH).
Mrs. Olajumoke Osumah
Mrs. Olajumoke Osumah obtained her BSc and MSc degree in Human Anatomy from University of Ilorin and University of Lagos respectively. She did her research project on “Administration of Antioxidant Nutritional supplements on the cryptorchid Testes and sex selection fertility outcomes in a wister Rat” at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
She began her career in the field of assisted reproductive technology with one of the pioneers of IVF in Nigeria. She served as an Andrologist / Embryologist for the organization (Medical Art Center) from 2009 till date.
Olajumoke is a certified Clinical Embryologist by the Embryology Academy Research and Training (EART Mumbai India) affiliated to Center for Reproductive Medicine Cleveland Clinic USA. She is also a board certified Technical Supervisor (TS) by the America Board of Bioanalysis (ABB). She is a member of America society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS), European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), America Association of Bioanalysis (AAB), Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH) Nigeria.
Her expertise spans over eight years in the field of human embryology and has performed a considerable number of cases in oocytes retrieval, denudation, ICSI, embryo transfer, blastocyst and oocytes vitrification, blastomere and trophectoderm biopsies for single gene disorder and chromosomal abnormalities. She has a special interest in oocytes vitrification and elective single embryo transfer with the main goal of ensuring quality improvement and excellence for patient’s satisfaction.
Jumoke serves as a mentor to many anatomists that aspire to have a career in human embryology. She believes in transfer of knowledge and technology, dedicated to clinical laboratory services and will constantly strive for improvement and excellence in all laboratory areas related to Assisted Reproductive Technology.
Miss EBELE CHIOMA ILOABACHIE
A Clinical Embryologist, Ebele was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology and Genetics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She recently concluded a MSc. program at the renowned Valencian Infertility institute (IVI) in conjunction with University of Valencia, Spain.
She joined Medical Art Center as an Embryologist trainee in 2011. She was certified as a Clinical Embryologist by Embryology Academy for Research and Training (EART) India affiliated with Center for Reproductive Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA. She has attended training courses and conferences organised by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Embryology Academy for Research and Training (EART) India, University College London (UCL), European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS) and Association of Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH) Nigeria.
Her expertise encompasses over 6 years in the field of human embryology. Ebele is very proficient in the techniques of ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection), embryo transfer, and embryo vitrification and warming. She is also actively involved in the process of Preimplantation Genetic Testing.
Her professional affiliations include the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Clinical Embryologists Association of Nigeria (CEAN), European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS) and Association of Fertility and Reproductive Health Nigeria (AFRH).
Miss Kolade Abiola , a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Medical Art Center. She is a graduate from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State in 2011, holding a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS). She is intelligent and very dedicated to work, this made her the best student in the final professional exam of her set.
Her experience as a Laboratory Scientist started at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan in 2012 as an Intern Scientist, Youth Service at Ilesa General Hospital in 2013, proceeded to Union Diagnostic and Clinical services in 2014. Presently working with this amiable establishment, Medical Art Center.
She is registered as a member of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist of Nigeria (AMLSN).
